Adding Pastels to the Colour Palette for Easter

Remember THAT Display Cabinet from a previous post? The one I found at an auction? The one I just HAD to have, only to change it beyond recognition?

Well, if you do, then you may remember I filled it with black, grey, white, silver, pewter and crystal objects.

With Easter upon us again, I've decided to add some pretty pastels to the colour palette of this display cabinet.

At first I just thought it was a good place to keep the Easter eggs, before they start disappearing. Then I thought a few touches of spring pastels may look rather pretty. Perhaps a little spring vignette.

Soon I found myself adding more and more objects...

... and before I knew it, it had all gotten completely out of hand.

Now it is unmistakeably an Easter Cabinet!

Playing around like this with Easter eggs has left me rather peckish.

Time for a coffee break.

A Caffè Latte and a few chocolate eggs to sample, please!

Happy Easter to all of you!

Visiting Paris is...

... a pain in the neck. Literally! But I take it with a smile. As they say: "Beauty knows no pain." - and for this beauty I will endure it any day!

Where does the pain come from?
From constantly walking with my head turned upwards.

Why?
Because that is where Paris hides her most beautiful jewels in plain sight. Granted, not always so easy to see with the naked eye, but with the help of a zoom lens on a camera, ...well, ...Wow!

So where exactly are these jewels?
In the exquisite architectural details all over the city.

The best are those patiently waiting to be painstakingly stripped of the city's pollution and nature's contribution in wrapping them in a beautiful patina, highlighting their intricate details.

And when my neck can no longer hold up to the strain, I just need to lower my chin to be blown away by the patina on statues and monuments.

Wandering through Paris in this fashion, also takes its toll on my feet, my shins and my knees. Things like side walks and bollards keep appearing from nowhere, tripping me up! But hey, when I sit down at the end of the day to look at my photos, it's all worth the bruises and the crick in the neck! And the excitement starts bubbling up inside of me for tomorrow's stroll among the jewels.

Happy Painting!
